Artificial Intelligence in 3D: Enhancing Workflow with AI Tools

Since the viral hit from ChatGPT in late November 2022, AI began to gain so much Traction from Siri to Alexa to self-driving cars, AI is bringing improvement to our everyday lives. The 3D Industry is not left out in this advancement. We now have AI Video motion Capture softwares, text and Image to 3D softwares, Saymotion by Deep Motion, which converts your text into animations, Cascadeur which helps you animate real quickly with Ai assisted keyframes and Physics, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality.

Table of Contents

Text and Image to 3D AI

New Generative AI technologies like Alpha 3D, Meshy, Veed.io, 3DFY, and Sloyd give you the ability to turn texts into 3D Models, although some of these technologies are still in their infancy, the results seem very promising and you can download the models in a usable 3D format like USDZ.  Creating your perfect Model with just text is surely a game changer.

Video AI Motion Capture

Video AI Motion Captures Character Movements from a provided Video, cleans it up, and applies it to a 3D model. This Character movement can range from one, two, or three characters depending on the Algorithm of the technology, it saves you the stress of getting a Mocap Suit, though the results of the Output are not outstanding compared to using a Mocap Suit it's still great as it Easy, fast and efficient, some of this AI include Plask, DeepMotion, and Rokoko.

Text To 3D Animations

This technology is still in Beta by the first AI motion cloud technology Deepmotion, all you need is a clear prompt of the animation in mind, and then you select the character you want this animation applied to and that's it. The technology looks very promising and will solve a lot of the challenges 3d Artists face with motion capture since it requires little or no effort and is cost-effective.

VR and AR

VR stands for Virtual Reality and AR stands for Augmented Reality In Virtual reality you're immersed in a Virtual world using a headset you wear covering your eyes. Virtual Reality uses Apple Universal Scene Description 3D format (USDZ). Meanwhile, in Augmented reality, you view 3d Scenes or Objects in 3d more like a life-like view of these scenes or objects. Both AR and VR use Apple's Universal Scene Description.
